Red Devil Squadron

The Red Devil Squadron is a bluesy punk band from San Juan, California terrorizing the west coast with their in your face rock n roll. The band consists of Captian Nick (vox/harmonica), Vince Bury (lead guitar), Matt Carson (rhythm guitar), Chopper (bass), Keith Divel (drums), & Tambo Tony (tambourine).

They recently cruised to the Motel No Tell to serenade us with a private jam session in GC12

Below is CD Baby's review on their recently released album...

What can we say about the RED DEVIL SQUADRON’s debut album other than we’ve witnessed the perfect marriage of sadistic rock and prevailing blues riffs. This album is a whirlwind wrapped up in a tsunami spit out of a black hole.  The first 3 tracks Madcowboy Disease, Transvestigator, and My Son’s a Dope Addict kick off the album with an aggressive, upbeat, in your face romp of earsplitting guitars, deafening drums, and howling vocals. Whereas, the heart of the album recoils the tempo and focuses on such bold topics as bothersome past affairs (Another Dead Surfer)(Bobcat Wrangler)(Whiskey Women), Tijuana’s beloved whore houses (Los Adelitas), and good ol’ fashioned alcohol intake exemplified in their own “anthem” (Drink While We’re Young). In addition to their “Good in the Head” lifestyles, the Squadron are dead serious about their craft.  You’ll find this apparent in tracks such as (The Boston) which tells the story of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, and the albums’ closing track (Symphony of Dead Rats) which musically fuses the sounds and vibes of a wild western metaphorical shootout between Tom Waits and The Doors. Not only can Captain Nick’s vocals clutch your throat and challenge your attention, but they can also softly whisk you away along with his harmonica playing on tracks like (Dirty Town, Bobcat Wrangler, Drink While We’re Young, and Symphony of Dead Rats). Matt Carson (guitar), Chris Perelta (bass), Vince Bury (lead guitar) and Keith Divel (drums) make for a razor-sharp backup section along with the help of engineer Brent Clawson of (Bullets N Octane) to produce this gem of an album in Rock Blues-Punk. The Squadron sound truly stands alone ---- and it’s never sounded so good.
